About Hurricane Tracker Live

Hurricane Tracker Live is a fast, mobile-friendly way to follow every active hurricane and tropical storm in the Atlantic, Eastern Pacific and Central Pacific.

Where the data comes from

• Active storms, advisories and watches/warnings: NOAA National Hurricane Center (NHC) and the Central Pacific Hurricane Center.
• Forecast cone and coastal warnings: NHC GIS products served by NOAA map services.
• Storm tracks and official forecast points: NHC Automated Tropical Cyclone Forecast (ATCF) best-track and forecast files.
• Base map: NASA Blue Marble imagery and reference layers via NASA GIBS.

How often it updates

Pages refresh automatically from NHC data every few minutes. NHC issues complete advisories every six hours and intermediate advisories every three hours when coastal watches or warnings are in effect, so a page reflects the most recent advisory NHC has published.
